A real plus for people and the environment

Reduction of CO2 emissions

Climate change is primarily caused by CO2 emissions, mainly from the burning of fossil fuels for human energy needs.

In the construction sector

The construction sector has an enormous influence on the climate, as it is responsible for about half of the world's energy consumption. It is therefore important that architects become aware of their responsibility and rediscover the climate as a relevant design factor, as was the case in vernacular architecture. The climate must be an integral and elementary part of the planning process, instead of simply handing it over to the building physicist or technician at the end of the planning process.

Commitment by G+P:

  • In cooperation with students of the University of Liechtenstein, G+P has developed a brochure summarizing the most important aspects for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from buildings as well as their total energy requirements. (Click here to download the flyer).

  • Our building physicists and experts offer consulting services at cost price in preliminary projects.

In road traffic

Road transport is the largest consumer in Switzerland, accounting for over 27 % of gross energy consumption. A reduction in the overall energy consumption of road traffic can therefore make a significant contribution to climate and environmental protection.

Projects:

  • As part of a federal research project, G+P has investigated the potential of road infrastructure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the rolling resistance properties of road surfaces. The potential of the existing road surface types in Switzerland is great. The study showed that better rolling resistance properties of low-noise road surfaces, for example, can lead to significant savings in use-related greenhouse gas emissions.

Tyre/road noise

Our services include measurements to determine the acoustic quality of road surfaces, for example using the CPX trailer measurement method, as well as specific measurement methods and analyses for acoustic optimisation of road surfaces.

Building physics

Our expertise includes building and room acoustics as well as thermal building physics, building ecology and energy efficiency consultancy.

Software

We specialise in developing environmental databases, noise calculation software, information systems and documentation – all tailored to the needs of our clients.

Research & development

We can count on an extensive national and international network in practice-oriented research in our key areas.

Environmental noise

We specialise in acoustic measurements and finding solutions to reduce noise emissions and vibrations from road traffic, railways, shooting ranges, commercial and industrial properties, building sites, etc.
